Well, here it is, page “one” of the Pirate Club webcomic I’ve been threatening to do since driving back from Stuptown comic convention last year with my friend, Jason Alderman. I’m not sure why it took me a year to get this whole thing up and moving, but for the last few months I’ve been feeling more and more motivated to draw comics again, but I was lacking any real motivation to “get it done” so I revisited the webcomic idea and here we are!
Blue Dick’s Ghost, the first chapter of the new Pirate Club online, was written by myself and Jason Young, the younger brother of frequent Pirate Club collaborator, Bryan Young. Jason is a funny kid who works at the liquor store and always has hilarious stories to tell about his time there, so when he said he wanted to make a Pirate CLub story that took place at a liquor store I was all for it! Jason did a great job doing an 8 page story, and I liked it so much I bastardized it into a 15 page story. I hope you enjoy it and come back on Monday for page 2!
Speaking of page 2…I really hope to stay on top of the 2 pages a week updating schedule, but if I have to slip down to one post a week, I hope you’ll all forgive me! I also hope you’ll forgive what looks to be a forever updating website. I am very new to this webcomic thing, and it’s gonna take me a while to figure out how to customize the style of the new layout to something I like. Any pointers or places you know I could go for help would be much appreciated!

looks really cool dude. i love the style of this. are you ever plannin on coloring these cause they would look fantastic colored. either way it looks great and can’t wait to see how the story plays out

Thanks! Yeah, I was actually always a little unhappy with the way I drew the kids as they were supposed to be in, like, 5th grade. Now the kids’ll be nice and short so the adults and “big kids” look bigger. I hope the story is what you expect, though…it’s a good one, I think!

Derek, I love the new art, it is great. I haven’t been on the site for a long time and it is good to see the story progressing and that fan base growing. I love the Red Devil class of 1990 t-shirt, that was awesome. Also, the hibernating reference made me laugh so hard, reminding me of the good old day in the original pirate club. Those were good times.
