About the Author

DEREK HUNTER is a Salt Lake City, Utah based Illustrator who has worked in the art field since the age of 16 when he began painting murals for local businesses and residences in his native Danville, California.  After a 2 year stay in Japan, Derek settled in Provo, Utah and has been working as an artist ever since.

After a string of illustration jobs, Derek began work on his comic series, ‘Pirate Club’, which got him the attention of local film crews, and Derek went on to work for Disney Channel, Fox Searchlight and others.

Derek now continues his comic series, ‘Pirate Club’ while being employed by ‘Send Out Cards’ as their lead Illustrator.  Derek hopes to continue drawing comics and children’s books, working as a freelance illustratior,  and building a unique brand of illustrated cards for ‘Send Out Cards’.
